Bridget OlsonMy yoga journey started about eight years ago when I took my first yoga class in college. Originally, I started practicing yoga to eliminate unnecessary stress. Soon, I realized that I gained so much more than mindfulness - I gained flexibility and supplemented my exercise routine. I had gained a deep connection along with an understanding of my body that remains with me off the mat.
In 2018, I completed my 200-hour Registered Yoga Training class at Empower Yoga, in Appleton, WI. My Teaching: I discovered along my journey I thoroughly enjoy encouraging others to discover their inner sense of balance, confidence, strength and flexibility on and off the mat. I love sharing my yoga passion with others! |
Gerry HammMy journey with yoga began over 20 years ago when a friend and I decided to try a class. We attended class weekly for a while and then life happened. I practiced here and there on my own until I signed up for a 40 Day Challenge at a studio. It was a heated power yoga studio and the experience changed my perspective on both yoga and myself. Ten minutes into the first class and I thought, 'What the heck did I get myself into?" Classes were challenging - physically and mentally. And, because how you react on your mat is reflective of how you react off your mat, I learned a lot about myself during the experience. Fast forward 10 years...I started teacher training after an accident left me needing to rehab my foot. I knew yoga would help fix my foot, but I didn't realize how much it would change my life. When I started teacher training, I walked with a limp and wasn't able to balance on one foot. My competitive mind had to come to peace with my physical reality. It wasn't easy. Over time, I came to realize that forcing my body to do things wasn't working. I had to let go of expectations and embrace uncertainty (aka...be vulnerable). Peeling back the layers of how things were 'supposed to be' and simply letting things be. Flow, not force. Each time I practice, I am reminded of this.
I practice yoga because it give my body an opportunity to move and release tension, while at the same time quieting my mind. Often, my mind is scattered and I'm feeling anxious when I come to my mat. My Teaching: After practicing, I roll up my may feeling confident and whole. Yoga really is magic for the body and soul. I feel so honored to be able to offer the practice to others so they can experience the same shift in their lives. |
Amy EbertAs someone who has struggled with anxiety for a large portion of my life, yoga has been an incredibly helpful tool for my anxiety management toolbox. I started a regular yoga practice in 2015 while working a stressful job. One day during practice, something clicked. I recognized yoga not only did great things for my body, but also helped to quiet my mind on and off the mat. I figured, if yoga could help me deal with my problems, it could probably help someone else. So I decided to become a yoga teacher. In 2018 I earned my 200 hour certification followed by a 15 hour trauma informed training. My favorite part of being a teacher is seeing my students in a better place than when they walked through the door at the beginning of class.
I believe that yoga can be for anyone and everyone. It's not about looking a certain way or competing with others. It's about showing up just as you are to explore yourself and achieve personal wellness. My Teaching: I teach a vinyasa style class that encourages honoring boundaries, mindfulness, and connecting breath with movement. You will be guided through a series of poses designed to build strength and improve flexibility & balance while learning to quiet the mind. |
Roxi DeTrudeYoga has always been an important part of my life. My yoga practice is focused on strengthening the body as well as the mind. I am passionate about living life with mindful purpose, and yoga helps me accomplish that. I seek to help my students thrive in life by nurturing their body, mind, and soul through the practice of yoga. In my classes, I combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness, and a dose of inspiration to encourage my students to deepen their practice. My hope is that my students step off their mat feeling refreshed, nourished, and balanced. I have completed 200 hours of Power Vinyasa Yoga and 500 hours of additional yoga training. I will always be a student in the practice of yoga, and am grateful for the loving wisdom my yoga teachers have bestowed on me.

Daina SpinnerDaina Schnese is a RYT 200 and a Reiki Master from Minnesota/Wisconsin. Her yoga journey began back in 2009… While attending college and receiving her degree in broadcast journalism in 2013, she fell in love with yoga. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree and certifications as a yoga/pilates teacher under YogaFit with three years of teaching already under her belt. While at the University of Missouri, she taught at the Rec Center and worked with collegiate and professional athletes. As an athlete herself, Daina knew what it felt like to start the yoga journey completely inflexible. She was able to combine her knowledge of sports and yoga to help basketball players achieve higher verticals, golfers longer drives, and football players quicker recovery time from injuries. It wasn’t until 2014 that Daina received her 200-hour certification and became a RYT. She found herself living in Florida, and stumbled upon a teacher training course offered by Jonny Kest called LifePower Yoga. The main three principles taught were slow flow yoga (gentle yoga with the eyes closed), power vinyasa (heated classes at a faster pace), and Ashtanga yoga. Her teaching style combines all three principles which makes for an intense practice for both the mind and the body. Fast-forward to 2017 when she began her Reiki journey in Florida, receiving her Level I and Level II certifications over the next couple of years. She began her Reiki Master course in October 2020, and was attuned Reiki Master in 2021. As a Reiki Master, Daina offers private sessions, Reiki circles, space clearing, and land and home blessings. Adding Reiki to her teaching repertoire added another layer to her teaching style… Yin yoga (a more disengaged, relaxing style). Daina also has an apprentice-style background in psychology, having worked as a ghost writer and editor for a renowned psychotherapist in Florida for four years. She has helped write online courses, blogs, and monthly newsletters on attachment styles and imago therapy. She uses her background in psychology to better her teaching styles in both yoga and Reiki.

Becky DiverBecky started practicing yoga to add variety to her physical fitness regimen but she quickly realized yoga is so much more than physical postures. Showing up on her mat helped her learn to regulate her emotions, ease her anxiety, quiet her mind, and be more present, on and off her mat. It was then when she realized how important it is to develop a self-care practice, not just for physical fitness but also for mental and emotional well being. She started teaching yoga shortly after graduating from her 200 hour teacher training at Plover Yoga in the spring of 2022. She became a yoga instructor because she’s passionate about helping people develop and/or strengthen their own self-care practice through movement and mindfulness. Becky also holds certificates in Trauma-Informed Yoga, Mindfulness/Mindful Meditation, and Sound Healing. She loves learning new modalities to bring to her students. Off her mat, Becky enjoys running, kayaking, cross country skiing, operating her local small business, and chilling out with her family.

Melissa Hoeft, OwnerMelissa started doing yoga as a way to stay fit and work on gaining some strength and flexibility. She never imagined she would become an instructor, let alone own a studio! However, her love of teaching and guiding others took over during her yoga teacher training, and she knew she was meant to share this gift with others.
Her yoga practice has changed and morphed over the years. She initially enjoyed powerful vinyasa flow classes to build strength, then moved into loving hot classes where she could focus on getting deeper into poses and is now perfectly content exploring gentler classes with a stronger focus on meditation. Melissa's teaching style will leave you feeling challenged in ways you didn't expect, while still being comforted and supported with her steady, gentle tone of voice. She blends stillness with strong movements for a class that is accessible to a wide range of people. Melissa's vision is for Yoga Hive to be a place for all to come and feel welcomed and supported. She wants to continue to bring yoga to the community and make Yoga Hive into a strong, connected family of yogis. |
