But we’re not looking for just anyone… we’re seeking a Unicorn. In fact, we’re not actually sure this person exists in real life. Thus, the reference to a mythical horned horse. The application and interview process won’t be for the faint of heart, and anyone unsure whether they’d love this position needn’t apply. Now we’ll tell you all about the Unicorn we’re seeking…
Our Unicorn is based anywhere in the Waupaca County Area, and is looking for a fulfilling, fun, part-time position working mostly from home or coffee shops, but sometimes in the office or studio, with a minimum of 40 hours a month (with the option for many, many more).
Our Unicorn is a verifiable wizard, who can tackle technology (new or seasoned), MindBody, website updates, simple graphic design projects, social media (including posting and stories), blogging, put up flyers, and managing collaborations and partnerships throughout the valley. We’re not looking for an expert in any one of these categories, but rather someone who is quick to learn, and is familiar in some capacity with MindBody, Excel, Canva, Trello, Mailchimp, and Weebly. This mythical person can snap a good-looking photo with their phone and edit on the fly from their mobile device (iPhone preferred but we can work with Android folk), they understand how to upload and download things onto their computer, and is someone who’s willing to innovate in ways we haven’t thought of yet. Bonus points and gold stars will be given to anyone who has worked with all of those platforms!
Our Unicorn is passionate about health and wellness. We understand not everyone is a yoga teacher and that’s OK – being a yoga teacher isn’t required. But it would be pretty ridiculous if you didn’t enjoy the concept of wellness and you had to plug the heck out of it online. Good vibes just don’t work that way. So yes, you have to enjoy what we do… which means you will enjoy what YOU do!
Our Unicorn is independent, but able to integrate feedback. Creative people can sometimes take things… personally. And we’re all about adding personality and personal touch, but when it comes to feedback, and learning our culture and voice, we need someone who is highly adaptable and open to hearing how things need to be done. On the flipside, that same person must be an independent thinker who doesn’t need their hand held when making decisions.
Our Unicorn is people-centered, and is authentic and approachable in person and online. (Yes, we will be looking at your social media profiles.) Because this position involves talking to people, and reaching people, you have to like working with… people. Whatever you’re selling, people want more of just because you’re selling it with a smile, and you’re a good human being.
Our Unicorn has a work-life balance and a regular meditation practice. Ok ok, maybe not required (we can teach you meditation!), but you must demonstrate that you know how to deal with overwhelm. Obviously, this position isn’t full time, so we’re assuming you have other work in your life. But this will require you to work occasional weekend and odd hours. It’s imperative that you have proven methods for managing multiple jobs so that the stress won’t seep over into your Yoga Hive work. Show us you get this concept.
Our Unicorn has a sense of humor, and is totally able to communicate in GIFs, emojis and memes when necessary. (Bonus points and more gold stars if you have a Bitmoji.) And if all that made your head spin or your eyes roll, I’m sorry (but really not sorry) … you probably aren’t the right fit for this job.
Our Unicorn is detail oriented. Like, for real. Not just saying you are. Obviously if you’ve read to the bottom of this description without just skimming and clicking “apply,” you’re all about the details, and we need someone like you who can read the fine print, edit copy, and follow directions without getting carried away. Also, you have to read all emails to the very end. And manage a to-do list. In the application when we ask you for the magic word, answer the question with the word: RUBY. (Yes. This is a test!)
Finally, our Unicorn is stoked to work for a growing company, LOVES everything about Central Wisconsin, is excited by the idea of travel and promoting cool stuff in faraway places, and is wanting stick around with our company as we grow. We are all about entrepreneurial spirit, and doing your thing… but we also want someone who’s ready to commit to Yoga Hive for a while. Ideally… a long while. We have full time potential up our sleeve for this position… promotions, pay raises, the whole shebang. We just want to start small and gauge someone for the right fit. If you’re the type who might move to Costa Rica tomorrow because that’s the way the wind is blowing your life, please don’t waste our time.
