About Brittany:

Picture
Brittany's warm-hearted spirit brings light and joy wherever she travels. Whether she is dancing, rock climbing, practicing/teaching yoga, or cruising around town on her bamboo bicycle, Brittany is hoping to inspire others to use their bodies to create a sense of peace for themselves.

She graduated from Principia College with a degree in Art History where she performed and choreographed within the Theater and Dance Department. After graduation she danced professionally in Chicago with various jazz and modern dance companies, including the Gus Giordano Jazz Dance Chicago 2nd Company and the Valerie Alpert Dance Company. Since 2005, she has also taught at the Boulder Jazz Dance Workshop and performs with Interweave Dance Theater. Brittany received a “Ticket to Vegas” on the smash television show So You Think You Can Dance in 2008.

She spent eight years creating a thriving dance program at Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, UT where she found and fell in love with yoga before moving to China to teach both dance and yoga in 2013-2014.

As an E-RYT 500 certified Baptiste Yoga Instructor, Brittany believes strongly in making a positive difference in the world. Her goal is “to always move and inspire others to do the same,” and, she winningly adds, “to never be too ‘old’ to dance!”

GETTING TO THE FLATHEAD VALLEY

Lodging Options:

Look for lodging close to Whitefish in order to NOT need a rental car during your stay here! If you have a rental car, it opens up your options to Kalispell or Columbia Falls/Glacier National Park (~20 minutes from Whitefish).
  • Once your deposit is paid, I can connect you with other Yogis coming to the training and you can discussed shared lodging costs to keep your costs low!
  • Airbnb - best thing to do is to search locations close to 22 Spokane Ave. You'll have cheaper rates if you select private ROOM versus private house.
  • Whitefish Hostel - 2 blocks from the studio - $35 per person per night. They are WAIVING the taxes and fees if you mentioned you're with the Yoga Hive training, which over the course of a week, is like getting a free night compared the price of booking those rooms through an online provider! They owners also practice at Yoga Hive—we love them!
  • Grouse Mountain Lodge (a longer walk to the studio... maybe 6+ blocks, although they do have a shuttle) - Really Nice Lodge
  • Pine Lodge (~4 blocks away from the studio) - A decent, clean hotel, although nothing fancy
  • Whitefish Lake Lodge (a longer walk to the studio... maybe 6+ blocks, although they do have a shuttle)  - A SUPER nice lodge on the lake and beautiful views!

Getting here:

Tips: If you're search for airfare, do so on a Tuesday or Wednesday when they are the cheapest. Also, don't keep rechecking and rechecking from your same browser, as it will recognize you and that search and drive up the prices automatically. I (Mollie) am VERY well versed in booking flights, and am happy to find you the cheapest recommendation I can find!
  • Airplane: Fly into FCA (Kalispell MT). Don't waste your time flying into Spokane or Missoula and driving here. We aren't surrounded by easy freeways so you'll be driving on a lot of windy highways. It's always cheaper in the long run to fly directly here!
  • Amtrak: Amtrak comes right through the center of downtown! They've had problems in the past not being on time, so just be wary of arrival times, etc.
  • By car: Driving to Whitefish? Awesome! Because it is during the winter season, you will want to be equipped for winter weather in the event it snows. It's easy to get around, but as I said, we aren't surrounded by major freeways or anything, so you'll be on 2-lane highways for most of your way here from Spokane or Missoula or Calgary.

Rental Car:

Hopefully you won't need one! But if you do, all the rental car companies either rent directly from the airport (all the regular brands that you see at any other airport). You can also rent cars from the Amtrac station here in the middle of downtown. I know Hertz rents from there specifically. If you're in need of a ride from the airport downtown and back, I'm happy to help coordinate (me, Mollie) as I live here and can assist where necessary!
